I have offices on the brain. Maybe it’s because Ian just landed a sweet full-time work from home position [uber jelly] and now I have an excuse to pimp out our office…or maybe it’s because I just love interiors. Either way this week’s design residency is office centered.

The inspiration: The Lumineers concert poster.

The translation: Offices are supposed to be inspiring right? A safe haven where you can create and work? Hanging Edison bulbs and a subtle, but charming musical theme make this an office I’d love to blog from. Whether you’re an artist, musician, blogger, design or jack of all trades I think the common ground of clean lines and a bright and visually stimulating space is a must. A friendly lightbulb style plant hanger adds a little touch of the outdoors so you don’t feel like you are in a cave. Last but not least – what is an office without some amazing stationery? Do you see those Poketo notebooks? Swoon.

  1. Congrats to Ian… so jealous… I’ve always wanted to have a job where I could work from home if I wanted to. What will he be doing?

I love that poster and I think you’ve pulled from great ideas from it. The desk and the light bulb terrarium are awesome!

I love this! The Lumineers poster is great, and I love how you carried the light bulb theme into your office space. :)

My “office” has been relegated to a tiny corner of my lounge room since we moved in to a one bedroom apartment, I don’t even have a chair! I might just have to convince the man that the rocking chair you posted will fit my “grand visions”!

    • Ah Jade – I need to be in an office chair that moves. Call me crazy but I feel like that rocker would be the perfect choice! We finally have an office since we have a 2 bedroom apartment that feels very office-like.
