Design Residency: Romantic Floral Dreams
Friends, let me just tell you that I am loving this collaboration with Kate from Striped Cat Studio. It super fun imagining these rooms and I love seeing how and where we find our inspiration.
The inspiration: I’m a BIG fan of Rifle Paper Co. When I came across this gold foil thank you note my heart fluttered. I’m kind of OBSESSED with stationery – so much so that I’m going to be a guest contributor over at my pal Kory’s blog. Stay tuned for more info! The colors are stunning and the fact that the florals are hand painted makes me smile. Metallic + florals = inspired.
The translation: I pictured a feminine and romantic bedroom. Dainty details and metallic touches create a whimsical feel and relaxing vibe. Now, let’s talke about that duvet cover. Reminiscent of a silk scarf this floral pattern is just lovely. Bring in a metallic media cabinet that can totally double as a dresser and this room just kicked it up to glamorous status. Let’s just say I would be sleeping sound in this environment. You can’t really go wrong with Dwell Studio, IKEA, Urban Outfitters, Antropologie, and Target.

That comforter looks like something Rifle made! It fits so well. Also, I’m super excited about our collaboration! Can’t wait for everyone to see it :)
Kory – tell me about it! I did a mini-scream when I found the duvet cover.
Love this. LOVE that dresser–so going to DIY that in my own house!
Kate – that dresser is totally DIY-able. I love it. I am also obsessed with anything metallic so it makes sense.
I MUST HAVE TWO AND SIX.
If this were my dreams where I could demand anything I wanted and it could magically appear, that is! I think this a great series.
Hi Kim – okay I know, aren’t they fabulous? I wish I could make these items magically appear too. I’m so glad you are enjoying this series!
